Under Agency Admin, the following sections of Genesis have the Source: Inherit/Source: Own function

Services, Programs, Assessments, Income Type, Expense Type, Income Group, Expense Group, Intake Fields, and Percentage of Poverty

WHAT is Source: Inherit/Source: Own?

When items are Inherited, it indicates that these items are set, maintained, and managed by your parent agency (top level data standards, State standards, umbrella agencies, etc).

When the button is toggled to Source: Inherit, both the parent agency's and child (your) agency's items are not only displayed below, but are accessible throughout the system.

When the button is toggled to Source: Own, the child (your) agency's items are not only displayed below, but are accessible throughout the system. Any item that is owned by your agency are set, maintained, and managed by the child (your) agency.

It is very important to note: the Source: Inherit/Source: Own is selected appropriately for your organization as this is the "On/Off switch" for what items are available in client profiles.

If an agency administrator were to set services to Source: Own, no parent agency services will be available in client profiles, only services that are owned by their agency.

WHY does eLogic Genesis have Source: Inherit/Source: Own?

Source: Inherit/Source: Own help organizations maintain their own centralized database while still being able to share certain items across multiple child agencies, ensuring uniformity in data standards and reporting.
