That's a fantastic question!

This is an example of what a client’s profile in Genesis can look like to a staff member who has very limited permissions.

This staff member could be a receptionist or a front desk employee

Using the client Shelby Willowbrook as an example, you can see there is only one tab in the Navigation Bar and two options available in the Sidebar. Limiting access to most of this client’s information is necessary for this Role. The Demographics & Custom Field Options assigned to this Role contain only the most basic information about the client.

Next, let’s see what the same client’s intake page looks like to an employee who is assigned a moderate amount of permissions

This example shows what the same profile can look like to a staff member who works with some client information.

This staff member could be a caseworker who specializes in employment

As you can see, there are more options available in the Navigation Bar, Sidebar, and Demographics & Custom Field Options. This staff member has more access to the client’s personal information.

All of the permissions granted to this user directly relate to their job position; nothing more, nothing less.

For example, a caseworker who specializes only in employment should not be given permissions to access protected medical information.

Finally, let’s see what the same client’s intake page looks like to an employee who is assigned permissions to all parts of Genesis

This example shows the same profile when viewed by a staff member who works in-depth with clients.

This staff member could be a Senior Caseworker

This Role has permissions set to access all client information. You can see how many options are now available in the Navigation Bar and Sidebar.

The power of Roles and Permissions allow your agency to customize each of these areas, ensuring data is accessible only to those who have permission.
